I’ll be honest – At the time of writing (26 January 2020) I cannot think of any games that are due to come out that I really want except Breath of the Wild 2 and the Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion pass.
There are several already released games that I want to build my collection such as the various FIFA games and Nintendo Wii games.
But what are the 10 already released games that I want the most? I have also added a couple of honourable mentions at the end.
Please note that these are in no particular order.
1) The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword – Nintendo Wii
I love the Legend of Zelda series and have done for about 20 years or so. I also enjoy the 3D games more than the 2D games. However, one game I haven’t had much opportunity to play is Skyward Sword. I have heard good things about the game and have enjoyed what I’ve played so far, but this was a digital copy on the Wii U. I want to get a physical Wii copy to properly try the game out and how it was meant to be played with full motion controls.
2) Luigi’s Mansion – Nintendo GameCube
Luigi’s Mansion has recently had a third iteration released on Nintendo Switch and has been a hit. The game that kicked the series off on Nintendo GameCube was a lot of fun to play as well as being the world’s first ‘Hoover ‘em up’. Now I want the chance to complete the game and rescue Mario.
3) Sonic and Knuckles – Sega Mega Drive
I love the old 2D Sonic games and own Sonic 1, 2 and 3 but am missing Sonic and Knuckles. Having had more chance to experience the game since getting with my girlfriend I now need my own copy to try and complete the game and my own Mega Drive Sonic collection. Eventually I want to own every Sonic game and this would be a good start to heading towards this.
4) Conker’s Bad Fur Day – Nintendo 64
This game is notorious for being the most rude and crude game on the Nintendo 64 but is one I have never had the pleasure (?) of playing. Saying that the game is made by Rare which almost guarantees the game is of high quality and it looks really fun on video. Besides that, I need to acquire the game to complete my Nintendo 64 collection and in that case why not give it a try 😁
P.s. I want to play the original, not the censored Xbox remake
5) The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks – Nintendo DS
Yep, another Zelda game. But as I mentioned I love the Zelda series. Spirit Tracks is one game I have never played in the series though and it is the current ending game for the Wind Waker timeline and I love Wind Waker. This Zelda game shows an advancement of technology featuring steam trains and on top of that is on a handheld console and will be fun to play on the go.
6) Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order – Xbox One and PlayStation 4
I wish this game was on Nintendo Switch although I do own an Xbox One so may try it on there one day. I love Star Wars games with my favourite being the original Star Wars Battlefront II and Jedi Outcast and I have only heard positive reviews so far. Besides, who doesn’t love being a Jedi?
7) Pokemon Battle Revolution – Nintendo Wii
As some readers may know I am a Pokemon nut. I have loads of games, plushies and random merchandise such as Japanese Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire tissues (really). Battle Revolution was effectively a Pokemon Stadium for Diamond and Pearl but not as good. It was fun to play though and the different battle styles provided a fresh take on battling as well as involving me memories of challenging the Battle Frontier in Emerald. I would love to try this again.
P.s. I orginally got this on the day before release and later regrettably sold it…
8) Super Mario Sunshine – Nintendo GameCube
Super Mario 64 is probably my favourite Mario game of all but Sunshine is right up there behind it. I love the callbacks to the original old school 2D game with some levels and some of the uniqueness provided in levels such as the Bowser rollercoaster. Also who didn’t love pretending they’re a speedboat by using the propeller to whizz around in the water surrounding Isle Delfino?
9) Flicky – Sega Mega Drive
This is a hidden gem (yeah I went there) in my mind if there was ever one. The concept is simple – avoid cats to gather your little bird friends and guide them to safety. It has its own quirkiness and the 2D graphics look remarkably charming. I own this on my Sega/Sonic compilations on my GameCube/Xbox 360 but I want the original.
10) The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past – SNES
Yet another (and final – I’m sorry 🤣) Zelda entry. A Link to the Past is a legendary (excuse the pun) game of the 16 bit era but one I only own digitally on my Wii U. I want to acquire a physical copy and fully experience the kingdom of Hyrule and the Dark World. I would also love to own the sequel, A Link Between Worlds, which I only have digitally on my 3DS.
Pokemon Sapphire – Nintendo Game Boy Advance
I bought Pokemon Ruby the day it released and did the same with the remakes Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. However, I have never travelled through Hoenn in Sapphire and would love to try it.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass – Nintendo DS
OK, I lied 🤥 I would like to acquire Phantom Hourglass and complete the adult timeline of Zelda games, but from what I played before it was not my favourite and would rather try Spirit Tracks.
Sonic CD – Sega Mega CD
To be honest I would love to own this game, I have it on my Xbox 360 and it is fun, I w at to own the original. Why in the honourable mentions? Because it is expensive, the system (which I need) is expensive and at the moment is nothing but a pipe dream/holy grail for my collection 😢
What released games would you like to get in 2020? Let me know on here or on my social media 😁
